In addition to the natural beauty and wildlife of the area, many activities are available.
Glenshee Ski Centre lies 14 miles to the North providing the largest lift system in Scotland, with 40km of downhill runs spread over three valleys and four mountains, ideal hill-walking area in summer. 
 
Golfers have a choice of 8 local courses, three at Blairgowrie, four at Alyth and one in Glenshee - and within an hour's drive there are over 70 courses, ranging from Championship links to quiet country courses.
Shooting and fishing  available locally.  Permits can be obtained for trout and salmon fishing on the nearby rivers and lochs.  Pheasant, partridge and duck driven days, semi driven, and rough days available - also rabbit shooting available all year.
 Other activities to be enjoyed in this lovely area are horse riding, canoeing, cycling and walking.  The Cateran Trail is a fully waymarked circular route beginning and ending in Blairgowrie, which can be accessed just one mile from the cottage.  Great place for dogs
 
The Kirkmichael Village Shop and Post Office is the nearest being 4 miles away to the west.  There is also the Bridge of Cally Post Office and Shop which is 5 miles south.
 
The nearest pubs are also at Kirkmichael and Bridge of Cally.
 
The nearest town is Blairgowrie which boasts a unique mix of well-known High Street names and independent retailers offering an individual selection of goods and services - and is 11 miles to the south of Keeper's Cottage.
